This is not a science lecture. I repeat not a lecture on science but of love. Bwahaha.
LEMINISCATES |
The infinity symbol is sometimes called the lemniscate, from the Latin lemniscus, meaning "ribbon". In real analysis, the symbol called "infinity", denotes an unbounded limit. The word comes from the Latin infinitas or "unboundedness".
NUMBER EIGHTS (8s) |
8 (eight) is the natural number following 7 and preceding 9. It is the root of two other numbers: eighteen (eight and ten) and eighty (eight tens). Linguistically, it is derived from Middle English eighte.
The number eight is considered to be a lucky number in Chinese and other Asian cultures. The word for "eight" (八 Pinyin: bā) sounds similar to the word which means "prosper" or "wealth" (发 – short for "发财", Pinyin: fā). There is also a visual resemblance between two digits, "88", and 囍, the "shuāng xĭ" ('double joy'), a popular decorative design composed of two stylized characters 喜 ("xĭ" meaning 'joy' or 'happiness').
So why the hell am I rambling about ribbons, infinity and the number eight? Well, if you are very observant you may notice that in the infinity symbol or in the number 8, there is an overlapping of curves which make an "X" and is somewhat the bridge for both loops. The human anatomy is the best example for two things connected by a bridge. From the minute DNA which does not usually exist as a single molecule, but instead as a pair of molecules that are held tightly together by (insert basic chemistry lessons that I have forgotten, probably hydrogen bonds IDK!!!) to the corpus callosum which is a large bundle of nerve fibers that connect the two cerebral hemispheres of ze brain.
A lot of things are connected by a bridge, I am not an exception. Today marks the 8th month I have been connected to someone, not by a bridge or an "X' or a hydrogen bond, but by... WAIT FOR IT.. THIS IS SO CHEESY I AM ROFL RIGHT NOW: love. THERE. I said it. Bwahahaha. WEW! The number 8 just seemed so important for me not to write something about it. All talk about infinity just makes me think (about DotA? Mineski Infinity? Naaaaah. Haha) le future. Oh well, that's about it.
Happy 8th Monthsary Jin. Like the number eight, my love for you has no bounds (unless you of course break my heart. Break my heart and I will break your neck, kidding of course. I think).
I love you babe. To infinity and beyond <3
