GOT YOU TO OPEN THIS RIGHT? :)) Anyways here goes...

Magic wands, Crystal Maiden and Tree of life, to the untrained ear it sounds like a fairytale. But like fairytales there’s always someone out there to get you. Those come in the form of Mask of Death, Doombringer and ghouls. Pretty gruesome stuff eh? So what are this things, characters or stuff? These are a few that make up our cyber world of DotA. In here the goal is to outwit, outsmart and out farm opponents and destroy their base. Simple eh? NOT. To do all of these you have to control a character that range from freaky faced monsters that gnaw at you to the heavily accentuated breasts of an archer lady. You can do it alone, but that would be boring. In order to make the most of the game, you need 4 allies and 5 opponents. And it’s time (anong oras narin kasi ^^)

After patiently waiting I found these girls with the same passion for the game with skills to boot. We are girls who treat each other not only as team mates, but also as sisters. To the girls who made my DotA life unique and more exciting: Elle, Ana, Kath, Joy and Girlie. I love you girls!

In the world of Dota dominated by testosterone-induced males, being a girl gamer has both its ups and downs. For non-believers we are what they call "noobs with boobs" and for believers we are what they call as "girls who kick ass".  But usually we get more of the negative vibe, especially if you're not that good of a player. But if you're Eleanore “PMSki.eLLe" Kuo, well, most of the negative comments girl gamers usually receive just pass by her. This 23 year old slim chinita has been a gaming geek since high school wherein she played Counter Strike and played as good as the guys. When she started played DotA it didn’t come as a surprise when she quickly adapted to the game and was soon going head to head with boys. Elle for me is a great all-around player who does not complain much and tells us what we did wrong so that next time we can do it right (which I usually forget and tend to irritate her) ^^ Being the team’s captain always gives her a mild headache but she rarely gets angry at us. Nevertheless I like playing with Elle and try to make amends every time I annoy her in game.

Elle is an HRM graduate from CSB-Taft and is currently enjoying life by being a bum without worries. Her current squeeze is Yukihiro “Yukz” Hasegawa from the main team of Mineski. She is quite the casual gambler, going to casinos and playing poker and mahjong with her friends. Her car is the pechay mobile.

B.

When you’re used to having a handful of girl gamer friends, a new girl always catches our attention. It’s not every day you see a new girl making friends with the Mineski team with legendary Bong Silva teaching her how to play support. Taking this into note, when I first saw Ana “PMSki.miele*” Bartolome she was only starting how to learn DotA after being addicted to R.O. Now she is one of the best warder/dewarder and support I know who learned in just a small amount of time. Her appetite for the game is what lead me to invite her to the team. Someone who just won’t stop to learn something is the kind of person we need.  She is also the team’s tactician, giving opinions to Elle before and after the game. Ana is one of my closest team mates whom I share not only DotA with but most girly activities like going to the mall, watching movies, sleepovers and stuff.

Ana recently graduated from De La Salle University – Taft and is currently pursuing higher education to become a lawyer someday, with that in mind whenever an issue arises be sure that she will always have conviction on what she believes in and stand for it until she makes you see her point (it’s good to be on her side in situations like this, haha). She also shares my fondness for reading books and watching movies.

Juy.

I clearly remember when I first encountered Marjorie “PMSki.JoY” Eusebio known as Theos.Joy . Elle and I were at Mineski Infinity playing against Theos.Wil via Garena one night when he let Joy play with his team. Being a very handicapped DotA player I was astounded by her gait when it came to using Kunkka. Soon I was seeing this girl play often in GG and when it was time to make the team I didn’t hesitate to tell Elle to ask if Joy was interested. Lucky for us, she was! I am at awe at Joy for not being a strong gamer (because she is well in fact our mid-laner/killer extraordinaire) but a strong women as well. Being a single mother is hard, but being a single mother who has to raze shadows of the dead to defend herself and her team mates is off the hook! Her stubbornness might bring her down at times but that’s what I call conviction! Conviction for what she believes in.

Joy is still deciding on which career she wants to pursue and we are always at her back to remind her to go back to school right away! Her daughter Franny is the cutest, but shares the same aggressiveness as her mother. Would you believe that kid beat the hell out of me for telling her to go to sleep so we could practice? Sheesh, kids nowadays! HAHA.

Konsehala.

Kath, kath, kath. With her crazy antics and her signature short shorts, Katrina “PMSki.hottiekath” Ferrer is a breath of fresh air when things seem down. She never fails to inject gayness and humor for everyone to cheer those faltering egos and spirits of ours. Elle and I will never forget her for being such a noisy chatter with an ` every beginning of a sentence which clearly annoyed us at first. (Elle + Rea: “what the fuck is up with that girl?! What a showoff). Since she was always around we gradually got to know her and befriended her. This aspiring singer is a tough cookie, usually sweet to everyone but when provoked unleashes the beast within. Her specialties include POTM, QOP and Chen and is PMSki’s resident solo laner. Recently she dumbfounded everyone by playing a jumping Viper (dagger built) with Dagon. Things never are ordinary with this girl J

Kath really wants to study Music despite her parent’s disapproval so she stopped attending classes in AMA. However she will be returning to classes soon when she decides on what school she will be admitted. Kath is PMSki’s party girl and is usually seen hanging out with her friends clubbing or having a beer. This is a girl who clearly is not wasting her youth away and enjoys it to the fullest.

Ms.STI.

Last is definitely not the least especially when we invited Girlie to be “one-of-us” and she accepted thus coming over to the dark-side J Girlie “PMSki.Foxylady” Policarpio is another one of those girls who easily  got noticed in Garena for being such a great player. She is unmistakably one of those gamers who play like a guy but if you’re lucky enough to catch a glimpse of her you will be truly be mesmerized by her being totally GIRLY.  Her looks does not even show a speck of DotA on her and cleverly disguises/masks her as being one of the best female Ph dota gamer around.

Ghe as we call her is studying in STI and recently participated in her campus’ beauty pageant garnering 1^st runner-up. NOT BAD FOR A MAJOR, MAJOR DOTA GIRL! Her boyfriend, the legendary Fox is a member of Mineski's main team too.

 

TO THESE FIVE LADIES, I HOPE THAT WHEN ISSUES ARISE WE GET TO VOICE IT OUT TO EACH OTHER. NO MATTER HOW HARD IT IS TO TELL SOMEONE YOU DON’T LIKE SOMETHING THEY DID, IT IS BETTER TO TELL THEM RIGHT AWAY SO THAT WE CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND NOT LET IT GROW AND GROW. I AM SADDENED BY CONSTANT RAMBLINGS ON OUR INBOXES EVERY TIME I OPEN MY ACCOUNT.  I DO NOT WISH FOR ANYONE TO LEAVE THE GROUP. I AM PERSONALLY ASKING YOU ANA TO THINK ABOUT YOUR DECISION.  EACH AND EVERY ONE FOR YOU IS IMPORTANT TO ME. I LOVE YOU GIRLS. I WILL DIE IF WE BREAK UP.

Someone come with me please! BTW Kuya Ajjie a senior when I was a cheerleader in college is an instructor there too! AMAZING!

I ate LION BALLS, and I liked it!

RELAX GUYS! I have never been a fan of exotic dishes, especially one which includes testicles. I'm talking about Nestle's chocolate: Lion.

My love-affair with this particular species of the Lion started when I was a kid back in Qatar. It was very common to see this chocolate bar alongside household names like Mars, Snickers, Galaxy, Toblerone and Toggi (all that will be featured in this blog soon). It is composed of a wafer, enveloped by caramel with rice crispies on top, finished with a generous layer of milk chocolate.

When I was in Bahrain International Airport last month on my way back to the Philippines from a quick vacation, I was looking for chocolates to spend my last dinars on. Ten minutes before boarding time I caught sight of these two. I hate the way chocolate sticks on the wrapper when it melts (what a waste, eventually I lick the chocolate off the wrapper making me oh-so-unladylike) so I thought that this waas something very handy for me. I bought one of each.

Because I brought a lot of different chocolates from my trip and eventually had a case of tonsilitis I had to keep the Pop Chocs in the cupboard until further notice. 

Just before work earlier today, I shoved the Lion Pop Chocs inside my Spongebob SquarePants tin lunchbox. In the middle of my shift I teared the top portion of the package to expose a ziplock-like enclosure, opened it and picked one. My first impression was that it looked like GOAT SHIT! But when I put the ball of Lion inside my mouth = HEAVEN! Super worth the wait! I ate another one. And another one. And ate more when I decided to share my blessing and gave the rest to my co-associates, only after I put 7-9 balls in a tissue paper which I wrapped and took home (which is now kaput!) 

*I have to remind myself to ask Mama to buy me some of these when she comes over in October. Kitkat Choc Pops get ready, you're next.

THE VERDICT:  
LION BALLS MAKES ME WANT TO ROAR FOR MORE!

AND I CAN'T HELP BUT SAY THAT I THINK DOTA PLAYERS ARE MORE CAPABLE OF COMING UP WITH IMBA STRATEGIES THAN THE MEMBERS OF THE NATION'S SWAT TEAM. Taktika ng kadiliman moves FTW. Tsk. Maybe they should consider DotA as a training for strategy making >.<

BEST READ WITH TAYLOR SWIFT'S "TODAY WAS A FAIRYTALE" 

When I was a kid my parents showered me with everything they could offer. In a way I guess I was spoiled rotten. Since I was their first child I was blessed with a lot of Barbies, Rainbow Brite stuff, Polly Pocket, My Little Pony, stuffed toys that were waaaay bigger than me, pretty dresses that were not bought from the store but made by a local tailor for every occasion,  and books. I had tons of them. I had them in sets. If I can remember correctly I had a my first encyclopedia set, a medical encyclopedia set, a science encyclopedia set, 2 huge dictionaries and a Hans Christian Anderson fairytale book set. I  couldn't remember how I started being hooked with reading but it's a past time I have become accustomed too up to now. 

Anyways back to the fairy tales. I've read and watched them all. From Ariel the Little Mermaid who got tired of swimming and asked for her scaly tail to be shiny legs instead so she could join the latest marathon, to Cinderella who had the worst luck ever since she had such an early curfew and lost a glass slipper, to Snow White who seriously needs a lesson on "HOW NOT TO TALK TO STRANGERS AND ABSOLUTELY NOT EAT SOMETHING GIVEN BY ONE (seriously that girl is a walking date-rape case) and other note-worthy fairy tales with heroines. Forgive me for the fairytale tweaking, I couldn't help it. Well, we all know and love the originals and for every one of those there is always the ever present prince. All these stories of knight in shining armor and men on horses made me think when I was a girl that someday my prince will come and that he will sweep me of my feet someday. But then I GREW UP and became a woman (yeah right). And had boyfriends. And went into relationships without thinking. Most relationships were unfortunate and I just wish that I can just erase the memories out of my head, but alas! It cannot be done, so I am stuck with those and I constantly ask myself: WHY DID I HAVE TO KISS TOADS, WHY DIDN'T I WAIT FOR MY PRINCE TO COME?

I am no longer a child and just a few months ago I was seriously devoid of the "finding myself a prince" notion. So I started enjoying my life from day to day. I went to work, occupied myself with gaming and hanging out with friends until the day I met: Him. Him who treats and makes me feel like a princess. Him who hates seeing my tears fall. Him who forgets he's angry at me because he knows I will bang my head on the wall if he walks out on me. Him who makes time for me even if he's super tired. Him who had the courage to introduce me to his family. Him who made me feel really lucky to have him when he said he hated my ex-bf's because they shouldn't have left me. Him who gave me his heart and soul. 

He is the one that rekindled my love for fairy tales. He is the one that makes me believe that a happily ever after is possible. He is Jinjoo Kang. MY PRINCE <3

P.S. Doesn't mean I'm chubby, he can't carry me. I made him try to carry me before, so I can feel how it is to be swept off my feet (even though it made his back ache, oppsssiee ^^)

Had an early dinner with Jinjoo at my house before my last night duty. 2 Family sized pizza + chicken pops = gluttony. He said I wasn't  following our agreement of no-rice, no fast food 'til our birthday. . . yet he's the one with such erratic cravings (ex. green mangoes, bbq, kwek kwek, fresh lumpia.. oh I can go on) that I have no choice but to go along with it (not that I don't enjoy it ^^).

I have been reading Tips for New Bloggers and now have a chatbox installed! YIPEE! My next goal is to add tabs so I can segregate my posts. I want a tab for my everyday ramblings, for DotA, for food, for movies/series, for books and for other stuff. I am currently very interested in learning html and CSS thingamajigs. Someone help me please :)

Graveyard duty is really making my bodyclock go haywire.

While we're on the subject of clocks, I might as well bring up the fact that I feel like a human alarm clock since I have been starting to wake up Jinjoo every morning at exactly 7am so he can get ready for work every time I'm from night duty. Not that I'm complaining. I like the fact that he is awakened by me and my oh-so-annoying call *evil grin* 

Since I still have two night duties to go before my long-awaited double off. I made a short list of the perks of being on night-duty rather than complain about it being boring or whatsoever.

1. I get to stuff myself with MIDNIGHT SNACKS.
    (for example last night I had these)
    2 chicken empanadas
    A slice of chocolate mousse cake
    A large cup of french vanilla cappuccino

 2. I can enjoy DVD MARATHONS in peace.
    I finished The Big Bang Theory Season One last night :)

 3. THE EXTRACTION CHAIR. It is the new bed:
      I don't really have to explain what I did, do I?
      If only I brought a pillow and blanket >:)

  
I'll be watching episode 1 of season 2 of The Big Bang Theory before heading of to la-la-land. I feel I have abused the   word "of" in that last sentence. OH WELL! Ciao for now!

You'll never forget, your first post.

Last night was the first of a 4-part series of my graveyard shift in the hospital which starts at 10pm and ends at 6am. After coming home at 7am earlier and waking up Jinjoo via phone so he could get ready for his work (opposite work schedules suck big time) I immediately plopped down in my bed and headed to dreamland. Which was going great if it wasn't disrupted by my brother when he continuously rang the doorbell just a few minutes ago because he was in need of some cash. Soon enough I fought the urge to be a lazy bitch and splashed some h2o on my face. When I proceeded to open my laptop I chanced upon Hidenori's link at Facebook which was his team's (Execration) new and official blogspot/website and became zealous about making PMSki's and my own personal account. Tammy and Dawn have been telling me to make one for quite some time. So I think this is it! Gaaaaack! I've been blabbering too much! Now the bank where I was supposed to deposit a cheque is now closed >.< oh well, there's still tomorrow! Now all I have to do is go to the nearest ATM so my brother can scat and I'm off to the computer shop near St.Luke's Global City, which coincidentally is ROG's (Republic of Gamers) headquarter where Jinjoo is their captain, so I can play 2-3 games before I head to, ughhh.. WORK. See you guys later when I abuse this blog about stuff you might not even care about! But what the heck, this is my space. But if you have even the slightest interest of following this blog, then by all means. Go for it. Indulge yourself :) And oh yeah I haven't started tinkering with PMSki site yet so I'm not sure when I might put it up.
